Dating to the Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche F/W 2002 collection, these lace-up gladiator sandals were designed by Tom Ford. Crafted in black velvet with an open cage construction and long wraparound laces, the design traces the foot and ankle in graphic lines before finishing on a slim stained wood heel with subtle platform.
Seen on both the runway and in the campaign for the collection, this sculptural evening silhouette embodies the dark romanticism of Ford’s early years at Yves Saint Laurent, where sensuality was softened through ribbon, texture and exposed structure. An exceptionally rare archival example from one of the most collected periods of modern YSL, with related examples held in the Powerhouse Museum collection.
Made in Italy.
