An icon of the Gucci 1970's era, the original Blondie bag was first introduced in 1971 and named for the oversized interlocking “G” emblem that adorns its front. Designed at the height of the house’s jet-set revival, the Blondie embodied a new kind of Gucci glamour: languid, louche and sophisticated. This rare early example is crafted in supple black suede with a structured, softly curved silhouette and bold gold-tone Gucci logo hardware. It also features leather piping, an internal zippered compartment & the Gucci authenticity stamp on the shoulder strap. Revived by Gucci in 2023 under the same name, this vintage edition remains infinitely more coveted for its authenticity and craftsmanship, and is a collector’s item that perfectly bridges Gucci’s past and present. Fabrication: suede & leather 

Condition: This piece is in very good vintage condition, showing some signs of wear consistent with age and authentic use. The suede has some light wear on the front of the bag with some more noticeable areas of wear on the back panel and interior pocket, while the gold logo displays minor surface scratching and the hardware displays minor scratching and some natural plating loss. These details do not detract from its beauty, rather they speak to its history and 1970's provenance and the bag still presents wonderfully when worn. Handle with care and store in a dust bag when not in use to preserve the suede’s texture and tone.
