Dating to the 70's, this stunning gown was created by LA based designer to the stars Holly Harp, who famously dressed rock stars Stevie Nicks, Grace Slick & Janis Joplin from her Sunset Boulevard boutique. Described by the LA Times as "the standard-bearer of L.A. style in the 1960s and ‘70s" and by owner of legendary Hollywood vintage store Decades owner Cameron Silver as "LA’s version of Ossie Clark", one of Harp's signature looks were asymmetrical matte jersey gowns of which this piece is a perfect example. Beautifully draped to skim the wearer's curves, it features asymmetrical straps which run from the neckline over the shoulders and flow down the back to dramatic effect. Crafted from stretchy and easy to wear jersey, this piece does not sacrifice style for comfort but instead imagines the possibility of a night out roaming from the most upscale Beverly Hills restaurant to backstage at a sweaty club on the Sunset Strip. A similar dress by Holly Harp was worn by Chloë Sevigny to the 2002 Vanity Fair Oscars party and is often referenced as one of the forever style icon's most memorable looks.
