Dating to the 70's, this beautiful skirt was made by Countess Jacqueline De Ribes, a French aristocrat, jet set fixture & muse to iconic designers including Yves Saint Laurent who created her own ready to wear line using only couture quality materials, designs and cutting techniques. This piece is a rare early example of her work and is crafted from three layers of gorgeous, feather light silk chiffon. The top layer is an abstract print with burnout polka dots, the second layer is blue polka dots on white and the third layer is pure white, all finished with overstitched hems. The skirt is designed to sit low on the hips and features pockets below the waistband which can be utilised to tuck the top layer of fabric into, creating a bustle like effect. Elegant yet unique, this would be beautiful for a formal occasion paired with a fitted corset or bustier. Made in France
