Dating to the iconic S/S 1992 Gianni Versace Couture collection, this Baroque inspired jacket appeared both on the runway and in the seasonal campaign worn by supermodel Helena Christensen. Made of a wool/silk/cotton blend, this exquisitely rendered piece features an intricately beaded gold and navy embroidered portrait collar with gold & pink enamel Swarovski crystal studded statement buttons. A panelled design that curves at the front & back hems and has a v-shaped cut-out at the back of the jacket below the neck, these romantic lines are accentuated with gold metallic lurex trim. The cut-out sleeves are inset with gold metallic lace and accentuated with pastel pink ribbons and bows, and the same ribbon and bow detailing appears in pastel blue running down the length of the jacket. Made in Italy, this stunning & extremely collectible statement piece was designed by Gianni Versace himself prior to his death in the late 90's and is an excellent example of his absolute mastery of tailoring and couture level detail.
