This gorgeous and unique Jean Paul Gaultier dress dates to S/S 1988, the very first Junior Gaultier collection released by the designer. For this collection Gaultier took inspiration from his own F/W 1987/88 collection 'Forbidden Gaultier' which included cropped leather & denim jackets with silver metal pocket flaps, jackets with quilted linings and silver metal bustiers. This dress represents a fusion of the themes presented in that mainline collection. It is a classic lingerie inspired bustier shape with alternating quilted nylon and stretchy sheer mesh panels. The articulated bra cups feature silver metallic inserts and silver studding and there is a double ended zipper running down tht entire back of the dress that can be opened to create a slit as high as the wearer dares. A must have for Gaultier collector's, this is an extremely rare early Junior Gaultier piece. Made in Italy.
Marked size: IT 40
Best for: XS/S
Measurements (laid flat, fastened & unstretched): bust: 13"/39cm, waist: 11"/33cm, hips: 14.5"/43cm, length: 50"/47.5cm
Condition: Very Good/Good; some signs of wear are present including stretching out of the mesh panels and creasing/damage to the metal inserts. The interior lining of the bra cups also display significant staining/age spots although this is not visible when the garment is worn. Overall the dress still presents well when worn but the above flaws should be noted.
