This gorgeous red lace cocktail dress by Vicky Tiel was made in the 80s. Remember the famous “jewellery box snap” scene in Pretty Woman right before Julia Robert’s character Vivienne is taken to the opera by Richard Gere? The iconic red ‘Torrid’ dress featured in that sequence was designed by Vicky Tiel for her couture line.
A stunning example of Tiel’s signature “bombshell” design aesthetic, this piece is off the shoulder and features a boned bodice, nipped in waist and flared skirt with a scalloped hem, all rendered in floral patterned red lace backed with tulle and fully lined. Sold via high end US department store Bergdorf Goodman, this is an incredibly beautiful and high quality piece which would have cost a fortune new. Perfect for a special occasion, this is a true vintage designer collectible.
