Dating to the 90's, this striking Vivienne Tam mesh dress embodies the East-meets-West influences that characterised the designer's best known work. Cut in a fitted cheongsam inspired silhouette, the dress features a high Mandarin collar with snap fastenings along the neckline allowing it to be worn closed or open for a different silhouette. The stretch mesh is printed throughout with an intricate stained glass inspired composition of butterflies, botanical motifs, animal markings and decorative Eastern tinged imagery in vivid orange, violet, turquoise, red and gold against black. Subtle ruching through the bodice creates a beautifully sculpted fit, while cropped sheer sleeves provide contrast to the lined body of the dress. 

A quintessential example of Vivienne Tam’s 1990's work, combining traditional Chinese dress references with the sheer mesh, body conscious construction and graphic digital style prints that became signatures of the designer during the decade.
