Dating to the 80's, this adorable dress was produced by Australian designers Janette Smith and Wendy Arnold under their cult label Studibaker Hawk which was renowned in the 80's for its fabulous party dresses. This dress displays two of Studibaker Hawk's trademark attributes - a detailed, hand printed fabric design and a clever balancing act of structure & volume. The top part of the dress features a fitted bodice & long sleeves with an attached bolero effect while the flared skirt is accentuated with a layer of crinoline ruffles. A homegrown collector's item, this is a fun & excellently made piece of Australian fashion history.
