S/S 1989 music note jacket
This fabulous jacket is a unique and rare piece by collectible designer Patrick Kelly, the first American and the first person of colour to be admitted to the prestigious ‘Chambre syndicale du prêt-à-porter des couturiers et des créateurs de mode’ – the governing body for the French fashion industry. Dating to the spring/summer 1989 collection, wor by none other than the fabulous Grace Jones and exhibited in the Philadelphia Museum of Art Patrick Kelly retrospective, this is made of waffle weave cotton with a music note motif and wide wrap collar. A literal museum piece, this is an extremely collectible example of vintage designer fashion from an incredibly gifted designer.
