Dating to the S/S 1992 collection, this Azzedine Alaïa mini dress is an iconic & increasingly hard to find collector's piece. Made from Alaïa's signature stretch knit, this features a scoop neckline, scalloped hems and a heart and scrolling ribbon motif emblazoned with the words ‘Mon Couer Est À Papa’, which translates to ‘My Heart Belongs To Daddy’. This phrase is a tribute to the bond between Alaïa and his muse Naomi Campbell who the designer took under his wing when she first came to Paris as a young model and who subsequently referred to him as 'Papa'. Bringing the symbolism full circle, Alaïa chose Campbell to wear the full length version of the dress on the runway. This print was rereleased in 2019 after the designer’s death & instantly sold out worldwide. Made to couture standards, this is truly a rare & museum worthy piece and will only appreciate in value.
