A rare and sculptural piece from Gaultier’s provocative late 80's period, these F/W 1987 leather trousers from the famed “Forbidden” collection capture the designer’s fascination with fetish codes, anatomical emphasis, and subversive tailoring. Crafted in butter-soft black leather, the trousers feature dramatic lace-up panels running the full length of the leg, threaded through metal grommets in a corset-style construction - an unmistakable nod to bondage and body constraint, pushed into high fashion territory. A sharply contoured ribbed knit waistband rises into a jagged, zig-zag peak at the front and back, sculpting the torso and exaggerating the hip line in true Gaultier fashion. The fit is long, lean, and assertively sensual. Rare & collectible, these are a museum-worthy example of Gaultier’s radical experimentation in silhouette, fetish iconography, and gender-fluid erotic tailoring at the height of his early career. Made in Italy.
